4月30日よりロンドンのヴィクトリア&アルバート博物館にて開催される、現代日本の漆芸の展覧会に参加いたします。私の作品は2025年に同館に収蔵していただいた「flowing_dg/b/o」が展示されます。

現代日本の漆芸を取り扱う貴重な展覧会に参加させていただけることをとても光栄に思います。会期は1年間、2027年4月末までです。ロンドンへ行かれることがありましたら是非ともご高覧ください。

I participate in the exhibition of contemporary Japanese lacquer art, which opens on April 30 at the V&A Museum in London. My art work “flowing_dg/b/o,” which was acquired by the museum in 2025, will be on display.

And I would like to express my sincere gratitude to everyone who supported me in participating in this exhibition. The exhibition will run for one year, until the end of April 2027. If you’re visiting London, be sure not to miss it.

1986年12月、V&Aの東芝ギャラリーは、イギリスで初めての日本美術を扱った常設展示ギャラリーとしてオープンしました。今年、開設40周年を迎えます。

これを記念して、特別展示「Urushi Now：現代日本の漆芸」を4月30日より一般公開します。展示総数60点のうち、現役作家による41点を中心に、21世紀の漆が見せる現代表現の幅広さを探ります。

In December 1986, the V&A’s Toshiba Gallery of Japanese Art opened as the UK’s first major permanent gallery dedicated to Japanese art and design. This year, it celebrates its 40th anniversary.

To mark the occasion, Urushi Now: Contemporary Japanese Lacquer opens on 30 April. The display brings together 60 works, including 41 by artists working today, highlighting the breadth of artistic expression in the 21st century.
