成田国際空港第1ターミナル5階エリアのリニューアルに際し、新しい作品を制作、納品させていただきました。

本作では4色の漆を使用しており、伝統的な漆の赤から現代的なマゼンタへ繋がる色彩は過去から現在、未来への繋がりを表します。跳ねるようなラインや青は飛び立ちの高揚感や飛行機雲を連想させ、空旅の出発を彩ります。

私の作品が設置されているのは「書の間」と名付けられた格子で緩やかに区切られた書院のような空間で、リクライニングチェアやPC作業ができるデスクなどもあり、静寂のひとときをゆっくり愉しんでいただけます。

飛行機を利用しなくても見ることができる場所なので、成田国際空港を訪れた際はぜひご覧いただけますと幸いです。

I created a new artwork for the renovated 5th floor area of ​​Terminal 1 at Narita International Airport.

This piece features four colors of natural lacquer. The colors, ranging from traditional red of Urushi to modern magenta, symbolizes the connection between the past, present, and future. The lively lines and blue evoke the exhilaration of  takeoff and the sight of contrails, adding a touch of color to the start of an aerial journey.

My artwork is installed in a space called “SHO-NO-MA,” a shoin-like room gently partitioned through lattice screens. It features reclining chairs and desks for PC work, allowing visitors to enjoy a moment of quiet serenity.

Since it’s accessible even without flying, I hope you’ll take the time to see it when you visit Narita International Airport.
